Appvion finds temporary warehouse space following June 14 storms

APPLETON, Wisconsin (From news reports) -- Appvion says it has secured temporary warehouse space in Grand Chute after its Appleton facility was damaged by a tornado on June 14.

The manufacturer will lease 130,000 square feet of the vacant National Envelope Company. The lease agreement runs through Oct. 31.

"It's in the millions of dollars," said Bill Van Den Brandt, senior manager for corporate communications at Appvion, about damage to the Appleton facility.

Appvion said it will continue to use portions of the East Warehouse Road facility while it repairs portions of the building, which is owned by WSI. The repairs are expected to take three to four months.

The June 14 storms spawned nine tornadoes in the region, including an EF1 tornado that struck Appleton's east side, Kimberly and Little Chute.
