CNG's Lindenmeyr Munroe division to acquire C.J. Duffey Paper Company

PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Central National Gottesman (CNG) announced that its Lindenmeyr Munroe division will acquire the business of C.J. Duffey Paper in Minneapolis and Duluth, strengthening Lindenmeyr Munroe's sales force and expanding its presence in the Midwest market.

Headquartered in Minneapolis, C.J. Duffey has served the Midwest print community since its founding in 1945. The company is managed by second- and third-generation family members, and it maintains the same integrity and professionalism embodied in its distinguished history.

"The acquisition of C.J. Duffey underscores our commitment to the paper distribution business in North America," comments Andrew Wallach, CNG president and CEO. "The company enjoys a rich 70-year history in the Midwest, and we look forward to building on its strong presence in the region."

Lindenmeyr Munroe President Bill Meany adds that the acquisition is a great fit for his organization, the largest privately held, independent paper merchant in the United States and a leading distributor of quality commercial printing papers, business and communications paper, and packaging products.

"We are confident that this acquisition will enable us to offer our customers and suppliers an unrivaled level of service," expresses Meany. "It allows us to strengthen our position in the important Midwest market, while reinforcing our ability to add value to the commercial print community."

The transaction is expected to close March 31, 2016.
