Liberty Carton acquires packaging business of Western Container Company

MINNESOTA -- Liberty Carton Company announced this week that it has acquired the packaging business assets of Western Container Company.

Both companies are located in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area. The companies are privately held and financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Western Container will continue to operate its steel, fiber and plastic drum business from its existing facility in New Hope, Minnesota.
Western Container's packaging products portfolio includes corrugated cartons and boxes as well as packing materials.

LDI Chairman and CEO Mike Fiterman said, "The businesses are complementary. In fact we've been a long-time supplier of Western, so we're happy to integrate Western's packaging operations with our own."

Liberty Carton General Manager Craig Musselman will oversee the combined operation.

Fiterman said LCC will continue to use both the Western Container brand and its sister Bargain Container brand for the next several months.

Liberty Carton is a designer and manufacturer of corrugated packaging containers and point-of-purchase displays.
