GERMANTOWN, Wisconsin (From news reports) -- Pregis Innovative Packaging notified the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) and the village that it will be permanently closing its entire Germantown facility by April 30, 2026. "The closing of the Germantown Plant will result in permanent employment separation for all 48 employees employed at the Germantown Plant and affect both salaried and hourly workers," said a notice of plant closure letter, from Pregis Sr. Human Resources Manager Kullen Cook. "There is no union representing affected employees." According to the notice of plant closure letter sent to the DWD, Village Board President Bob Soderberg and Village Administrator Steven Kreklow, 48 employees will be let go, in total, including 29 assemblers, two buyers, six inventory specialists, one inventory supervisor, one manufacturing supervisor, one parts coordinator, one parts and service manager, three quality control technicians, one quality supervisor, two shipping and receiving clerks, and one planner. "All separating employees are being provided an appropriate notice of their separation date and advised that their separation from the Company will be permanent," the letter said. "There will not be any bumping rights for affected employees -- that is, employees will not be able to displace more junior employees out of their job positions because of this closure."
