TENNESSEE (From news reports) -- Nobody was injured by a fire that broke out at a paper plant in Calhoun, TN late Monday night, June 16.

Emergency response crews at the Domtar Calhoun Mill, alongside local fire departments, responded to the scene at 10:30 p.m., according to a Domtar representative.

The fire reportedly started inside an old training facility on the property. This building was formerly the Bowater Credit Union.

Viewers reported seeing heavy smoke billowing from the large structure Tuesday morning.

Crews fought the flames throughout the night and into the early morning, but the fire is now fully under control.

A bulldozer on scene has started demolishing the building, which suffered extensive damages.

The Domtar spokesperson says they are currently investigating the cause of the fire.

Tri-State Mutual Aid chief Billy Roach said Calhoun Fire requested aid from several agencies around 10:30pm Monday night, June 16 after heavy smoke was seen billowing from a 25,000 square foot structure.

That building, an old training center and former credit union, was deemed a total loss.
