GREEN BAY, Wis. (From WBAY) - A Brown County man faces prison time for a deadly drugged-driving crash near Georgia-Pacific last year.

Prosecutors say in July 2015, John Convery lost control of his truck and hit two contractors working for Georgia-Pacific who were outside on a break.

Brian Delebreau died at the hospital. The other man, Paul Price, had several broken bones.

Convery pleaded no contest in court Monday for homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle. He was found guilty of three additional charges: Homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle, reckless driving and possession of a controlled substance.

He'll be sentenced in January on those three charges. Judgment on the charges to which he pleaded no contest was deferred until 2031 under an agreement.

Lab results showed Convery had taken diazepam, also known as Valium, which he didn't have a prescription for. Diazepam is intended to treat anxiety and seizures. Side effects include blurred vision and fatigue, according to Medscape.com.
