In the innocent days of the 1970's, the US Environmental Protection Agency was formed. It came into being on 9 July 1970. Other countries had formed similar bodies in the same era. Sweden's was founded in 1967, for instance. Others were formed as late as the 1990's. Back in those days, air and water pollution were spewing forth with little control and little was being done about it. The correct approach was science coupled with appropriate regulations. This has happened worldwide now, by one of two methods.

Sonoco Enters into New $750 Million Revolving Credit Facility

Sonoco announced it has entered into a new five-year $750 million revolving credit facility (the "Credit Agreement") with a syndicate of banks. The Credit Agreement replaces an existing credit facility entered into on July 20, 2017, and reflects substantially the same terms and conditions.

Pregis invests more than $14 million in new Atlanta area manufacturing facility to support e-commerce growth

The McDonough facility will be producing the recently rebranded Pregis EverTecâ„¢ mailer which features lightweight, recyclable all-paper cushioned construction. Pregis is currently looking to fill 80 new manufacturing positions there, with room to expand production and employment opportunities in the future. In total, the new EverTec manufacturing locations are expected to create approximately 450 new jobs.
