Columbia Pulp shuts down 'most operations' citing need to better develop customer base for alternative fiber

The majority of operations at Columbia Pulp LLC will shut down for an undetermined length of time starting Friday, Feb. 18, while the young company works on developing a market for its unique product. Approximately 80 employees will be out of work, with a small staff continuing to handle daily business operations, though the company's interim CEO states this does not mean the pulp mill is going out of business.
