The General Motors strike was a short-lived phenomenon. It will be interesting to see if their model contract carries through to Chrysler, now owned by Cerberus.

Speaking of Cerberus, it looks like their paper company, NewPage, is picking up the Stora Enso assets here in the United States. If this passes anti-trust hurdles, it should make for a strong coated paper company.

And finally, speaking of private equity, the Koch brothers, of Koch Industries fame (and owner of Georgia-Pacific) are fairly high up on the Forbes 400 list of richest Americans released just this past week.
