Smurfit Westrock announces two board members to step down

DUBLIN (From news reports) -- Smurfit Westrock plc announced that board members Terrell K. Crews and Lourdes Melgar will retire from the Board of Directors at the conclusion of the company's 2026 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, scheduled for 1 May 2026. Their departures mark the end of their roles in guiding the business through the critical early period following the merger of Smurfit Kappa and WestRock.

Following their retirement, Crews will step down as Chair of the Audit Committee and member of the Finance Committee, while Melgar will leave the Audit and Sustainability Committees. Carole L. Brown will assume the role of Audit Committee Chair, and the company plans to implement broader succession arrangements for its board committees to ensure continuity in governance and oversight.
