Crane collapses on Green Bay Packaging worksite overnight due to severe storms

CONWAY COUNTY, Ark. (From news reports) - A crane collapsed on a construction site in Conway County due to severe storms.

The collapse happened at a site at Green Bay Packaging on Highway 113 near Morrilton.

Officials with Green Bay Packaging said the crane collapsed overnight on Wednesday, April 15, during a bout of severe storms.

They also added that no one was working in the area at that time, and no injuries occurred.

"Green Bay Packaging's top priority is, and always will be, the safety of our employees, contractors, and the surrounding community," said Brad Harville, Vice President and General Manager of the Green Bay Packaging Arkansas Kraft Division. "We are grateful that no one was hurt, and we are taking this incident very seriously as we assess the situation and determine next steps."
