Metsä Wood to cut 100 positions in Finland and Estonia

Metsä Wood announced on 13 May 2026 that it would start statutory negotiations as part of measures to respond to weakened profitability and changes in the operating environment, with the negotiations covering the company's personnel in Finland and Estonia.

The statutory negotiations in both countries have been completed, resulting in a reduction of 100 positions in total. The company will implement reorganizations of tasks and operations aimed at improving operational efficiency and strengthening competitiveness. The measures will lead to the termination of employment or a change in duties for 72 people.
