Renko sawmill is Metsä Fibre's safest mill of 2025

Metsä Fibre's Renko sawmill has been selected as the company's safest unit in 2025 among its eight production facilities. The selection was based on the total recordable injury frequency (TRIF) of both personnel and contractor employees, as well as the site's level of activity in implementing proactive safety measures.

During the past year, there were no accidents at the Renko sawmill involving either Metsä Fibre's own personnel or contractor employees.

"The accident-free period has now exceeded 560 days, which is an excellent indication of long-term and committed safety work," says Virva Juhola, VP, Sawn Timber Production.

Corrective actions and proactive safety efforts were also at a high level. In addition, the sawmill's personnel have improved production efficiency, demonstrating that safety and productivity go hand in hand.

"At Metsä Fibre, a safe workplace is a right for everyone. Our goal is to ensure that every Metsä Fibre employee, as well as our partners' employees, returns home from work healthy every day. We are uncompromising in our efforts to continuously improve safety, and this is why we also require a high level of occupational safety competence from our suppliers and partners," Juhola concludes.
