Valmet to deliver furnace upgrade to Shotton Mill Limited in the UK

Valmet is to deliver a furnace upgrade, along with a long-term service agreement, to Eren Holding's Shotton Mill in the UK. The furnace upgrade will be delivered by the end of 2025. The value of the order will not be disclosed.

The majority of the mill's bubbling fluidized bed (BFB) boiler furnace will be covered with coated panels that create a protective layer on the surface, resisting corrosion and erosion and thereby extending the furnace's lifetime. Additionally, Valmet will support the customer with a long-term service agreement including site inspection services.

Valmet's delivery includes a furnace upgrade with specially coated panels. The service agreement provides inspection services and a tailored online training package for the mill's employees.

Shotton Mill Limited is currently undergoing a significant investment program, including a new containerboard production line supplied by Valmet and tissue production line also supplied by Valmet. When operational, Shotton Mill will have the capacity to manufacture 750,000 tonnes per year of containerboard and 67,000 tonnes per year of tissue paper. Shotton Mill Limited is part of Eren Holding.
